Spatial and geometrical control of silicification using a patterned poly-L-lysine template
نویسندگان
چکیده
A simple process to achieve patterned silica films is described. The patterning of the catalyst poly-L-lysine via photolithography and liftoff enables the spatial and geometrical control of silicification. Microscopy and chemical characterization demonstrate that this process enables consistent patterning of silica with 10 mm resolution in a variety of geometries. In addition, the spatial and geometrical control of the silica is demonstrated under different reaction conditions and yields various silica morphologies. The ability to simultaneously pattern bio-inspired silica and control its morphology may allow the tailoring of silica and other silicon-based materials for future applications. # 2005 Elsevier B.V. Comparative assembly of colloidal quantum dots on surface templates patterned by plasma lithography
Plasma lithography is a template-guided self-assembly nanomanufacturing strategy for creating functional engineering devices using nanoscale and molecular building blocks. To elucidate the plasma lithography manufacturing process, the comparative binding of colloidal quantum dots on plasma patterned surface templates is investigated. In particular, fluorescence microscopy and scanning electron ...
متن کاملEngineering the morphology and electrophysiological parameters of cultured neurons by microfluidic surface patterning.
The ability to control the orientation, morphology, and electrophysiological characteristics of neurons in culture allows the construction of neural circuits with defined physiological properties. Using microfluidic protein deposition onto chemically modified glass, we achieve the controlled growth of Aplysia neurons on geometrical patterns of poly-L-lysine and collagen IV, surrounded by nonadh...
متن کاملIn vitro Labeling of Neural Stem Cells with Poly-L-Lysine Coated Super Paramagnetic Nanoparticles for Green Fluorescent Protein Transfection
Background: The magnetic nanoparticle-based transfection method is a relatively new technique for delivery of functional genes to target tissues. We aimed to evaluate the transfection efficiency of rat neural stem cell (NSC) using poly-L-lysine hydrobromide (PLL)-coated super paramagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPION). Methods: The SPION was prepared and coated with PLL as transfection agent...

Background and Objective: Poly D,L-lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) is known as biodegradable and biocompatible polymer. These polymers have recently received much attention in tissue engineering. The aim of this study was to investigate the biological behavior of the bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) in culturing with PLGA nanofibers coated with poly-L-lysine or gelatin. Materials and Methods: I...
متن کاملStudy of the inhibitory effects of N-heterocycles, magnesium oxide nanoparticles, nisin and poly-L-lysine on Enterobacter aerogenes (hospital pathogen)
Background: Enterobacter aerogenesis one of the causes of hospital-acquired infections, which its standard strains quickly become resistant to the antibiotics. The discovery of new inhibitory agents against this pathogen is constantly expanding. In this study, the inhibitory effects of several synthetic chemical compounds including magnesium oxide nanoparticles and thiazole, imidazolidine and t...
